The TOEFL format has changed, so preparing from old materials can waste time. I teach all four skills for the TOEFL iBT and for TOEFL Essentials, using the current task types, and I show you how scores are reported so you know what you are aiming for.

What happens in a lesson

A first session to find your starting level and the score your university or programme asks for

Practice with the current Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing task types

Speaking practice with timed answers and feedback on fluency, clarity and structure

Writing feedback on organisation, grammar and vocabulary, with a rewrite after each task

A study plan for the days between lessons
Support also covers TOEFL Essentials if that is the test you need.

Who it is for
Students applying to universities that accept TOEFL, including many programmes in North America, and test takers who want to understand the new scoring, with bands from 1 to 6, before setting a target.
How sessions work and your tutor
Each one hour session is held online over Zoom, Google Meet or the platform you prefer. You can book an individual session for support built around your weakest skills, or join a group session at a lower price. Individual sessions are £30 an hour instead of £40 until 31 October.
Your tutor: I am Ali, a UK university lecturer with a Cambridge CELTA and an MA in International Education and Development from the University of Sussex. I have taught English at UK colleges and universities for over 13 years.
