Free Persian Dari games for children

These games help children learn Persian Dari through play: the alphabet, letter sounds, everyday words, sentences and, finally, reading real stories and poems. I built them for families raising children outside Afghanistan, where a child may understand Dari at home but answer in English, and has never been taught to read it.

Each game focuses on one skill and takes about ten minutes. Where Farsi and Dari use different words, Vocab Monster shows both, so children recognise the words they hear from grandparents as well as the ones they see in books.

Where to start: follow the five games in order: Alphabet Garden, Sound Hunter, Vocab Monster, Magic Sentence Builder, then Nightingale and Flower. The other games give extra practice with colours, animals, describing words and spelling.

All games are free and contain no advertising. They work on phones, but a tablet or computer gives children more room to play.
